Dartex Coatings Ltd has received updated Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification for all it's products. To gain Oeko-Tex certification a company must prove its products meet all the human-ecological requirements of the standard for the relevant end uses of the market. Dartex has certified in Class IV, for mattress covers and garments not worn next to the skin and Class I which is suitable for babies. Oeko-Tex certification effectively means that Dartex products do not contain or leach any harmful substances. Most polyurethane suppliers are not as committed to these ideals and will use heavy metals and unapproved biocides which would prevent certification. All PVC fabrics would fail to comply too.
